In the 2019-20 Serie A season, all eyes will be on Juventus, to see if they can clinch a 9th scudetto in a row.
Juve has a new coach in Maurizio Sarri, and new players in Mathijs de Ligt, Adrien Rabiot and Aaron Ramsay. But the core of uber-competitive fighters such as Chiellini, Khedira, and Cristiano Ronaldo remains – so the team should still have the same hunger for Serie A titles.
And that’s just as well, as if Juve ever gets tired of winning, there are plenty of pretenders to its throne. Napoli has invested in Kostas Manolas from Roma to partner Koulibaly at the heart of the defence, while Dries Mertens and Lorenzo Insigne will continue to provide the flair upfront. And with new coach Carlo Ancelotti being famed for his attacking style, the Partenopei should score a ton of goals.
But the most intriguing challengers to Juventus are surely Inter. The Milanese club has recruited former Juve coach Antonio Conte to spearhead a bid for a first title in 10 years. Conte has shipped troublesome striker Mauro Icardi off to PSG and has got his replacement Romelu Lukaku banging in the goals. If he can do the same with fellow newboy Alexis Sanchez, we could have a title race on our hands.
