Betting on the Premier League

In this EPL betting guide, we will look at Liverpool’s latest title-winning odds along with the other important Premier League betting markets.

These markets include:

  • Which teams will finish in the top 4?
  • Which teams will get relegated to the Championship?
  • Which manager will be next to leave his position?
  • Who will win the Golden Boot?

In all of these EPL betting markets, we will search for any decent value bets. Bookmakers tend to be extremely efficient at pricing Premier League markets…but, you never know!

IMPORTANT: In this betting guide we use the latest odds from Betfred, BetVictor and William Hill.

Why do we use data from these bookmakers? Because our BookieBowl data shows these sportsbooks currently offer the best value betting odds on the Premier League.

If you enjoy betting on the Premier League, we recommend switching to these bookmakers to save (potentially) hundreds of pounds/euros/dollars per season.

Premier League Timeline

These have been the important events in the 2019-20 Premier League (so far)
August 9

Liverpool 4-1 Norwich

MATCH DAY 1 Liverpool meets newly-promoted Norwich in the season opener at Anfield. The Reds go 4-0 up at half-time before the Canaries pull a goal back through Teemu Pukki.

August 17

Man City 2-2 Spurs

MATCH DAY 2 City dominates Spurs at the Etihad, with 30 shots to Tottenham’s 3. But careless defending, rotten luck and VAR means Guardiola’s side drops their first points of the season.

August 24

Liverpool 3-1 Arsenal

MATCH DAY 3 Liverpool faces their first major test in the top-of-the table-clash against Arsenal. David Luiz’s brain fart and Salah’s brilliance seals all 3 points and maintains Liverpool’s 100% record.

September 14

Norwich 3-2 Man City

MATCH DAY 5 City falls to a surprise 3-2 defeat at Carrow Road, with a dreadful Otamendi error leading to the winner. A few days later, defender John Stones injures himself in Ukraine.

September 22

Chelsea 1-2 Liverpool

MATCH DAY 6 Liverpool doesn’t have the best away record against fellow Big 6 clubs. But they still have enough to win at Stamford Bridge against Frank Lampard’s young Chelsea side.

October 5

Liverpool 2-1 Leicester

MATCH DAY 8 Third-placed Leicester’s James Maddison equalises Sadio Mane’s opener with 10 minutes on the clock. But a stoppage-time penalty from James Milner wins it for Liverpool.

October 6

Man City 0-2 Wolves

MATCH DAY 8 City’s defensive weaknesses are exploited to the full by Wolves, who deservedly win at the Etihad. Two goals from Adama Traore mean City is now 8 points behind Liverpool.

Which bookmakers offer the best-value Premier League odds?

Our BookieBowl project tests out the odds of the leading bookmakers, across a wide range of sports and tournaments, including the English Premier League.

The latest data (December 31st 2019) shows that the following online bookies offer the best odds. All these sportsbooks accept UK and Irish customers, as well as many countries across the EU.

On the other hand, we advise you to avoid betting on the Premier League with the following bookmakers: Paddy Power, Ladbrokes, SkyBet

Our tests show that these bookies offer average overrounds (house edges) on the Premier League above 6%, which – in our honest opinion – is exceptionally bad value. It doesn’ matter how great a gambler you are – you just can’t beat house edges greater than 6%.
